A word of caution: This file contains continuous bass energy which can damage your system if played too loudly! Use a low volume setting first, and listen to one complete sweep (30 seconds) before adjusting your volume upward.
This free bass sweep is provided to help you hear the effect of room modes and bass response nulls. You can hear the tone level go up and down as it sweeps from 20Hz to 100Hz. If you use a single subwoofer, you may even hear the tone nearly dissappear at certain points, then reappear.
The starting frequencies of the sweep will likely seem to be at a lower level due to many factors including room size and shape, human hearing response, subwoofer capability, and system equalization.
The sweep will make four passes. You can also use your SPL meter to see the changing level of the sweep, but this test should not be used to attempt to equalize your system!
You may also find this sweep test useful in isolating vibrating items within your room. Listen for resonances as the tone sweeps upward.
